Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Both routes lead to the exact same qualification — ACMA/FCMA and the CGMA designation. The traditional route requires 9 Objective Test exams + 3 Case Study exams (12 total). The FLP route replaces the 9 OTs with continuous digital assessments on the CIMA platform, so you only sit 3 formal exams (the Case Studies). The FLP is entirely self-paced, subscription-based, and designed for working professionals.
CharterQuest provides what the FLP platform alone cannot: structured study plans, live Case Study preparation classes with elite lecturers (Munya Dera & Noel Gurure), a peer community, and a clear roadmap from enrolment to qualification. Our Gold and Platinum tiers include direct class access, while Silver provides the platform and materials for self-study.
The FLP is entirely self-paced. Most CharterQuest students complete all 3 levels in 3–12 months, depending on their starting point and study commitment. Some students have completed 2 levels in just 5 months. The key factor is consistent, structured study — which is exactly what FLP Navigator provides.
Absolutely. FLP is tax-deductible and SETA-aligned, making it ideal for company sponsorship. If your company is sponsoring you, simply submit proof of payment or a purchase order and begin classes immediately while your employer processes payment. We also provide employer letters to support your application.
You can start with a 20% deposit and pay the remaining balance over 6 months via a signed debit order mandate. Your 20% deposit secures immediate CQ class access. We also partner with Capitec Education Finance, Standard Bank Student Loans, and Student Hero for additional funding options.
Yes. The FLP leads to the exact same ACMA/FCMA and CGMA designation as the traditional route — there is no distinction on the certificate. Employers see the same qualification regardless of which route you took. CIMA has confirmed that both pathways are equally valid and meet the same competency standards.
CharterQuest's 1st Time Pass Guarantee means that if you follow the programme structure, attend the required classes, and don't pass your Case Study on the first attempt, your retake preparation is covered at no additional cost. This gives you confidence to invest in your studies knowing you have a safety net.
The next FLP intake closes on 8 July 2026. Register before this date to get access to the FLP platform in the first week of July. FLP has monthly intake windows, so if you miss this one, the following intake is 10 August 2026. However, earlier enrolment means more preparation time before Case Study exams.
